CenturyLink, CWA to resume new contract negotiations
This is the 10th year the department and CenturyLink have united to pay for classroom technology projects across Idaho. Teachers have until Jan. 10 to apply. Grants will be awarded in April.

Citing an update made by bargaining committee chairman Reed Roberts,The Denver Postreports that CWA president Larry Cohen called CenturyLink CEO Glen Post to discuss “where we go from here.” CWA representatives and members of CenturyLink’s management will resume talks on Wednesday through Oct. 11 in hopes of reaching a resolution. Roberts said that “should progress be made in those talks, the two parties’ full committees would be brought in to formalize a new agreement.” The union covers 12,000 workers in 13 states, including nearly 2,000 in Colorado that worked for CenturyLink’s predecessor company Qwest.

Centurylink Field might add a few thousand more seats in 2014
Those few-thousand seats would be a welcome addition for the men in Shale, as they certainly would be for the men in Wolf Grey (if they’d actually wear those sweet uniforms at home, that is). More significant, though, is the possibility that the new section could be sold as a block as a cheap season ticket area, similar to how the Hawks Nest was recently opened for Sounders games.
